Jordan Weiss has been teaching low-tech methods of mushroom cultivation using permaculturally-based methods since 2006. He was a member of the Oregon Mycological Society(OMS) for thirteen-years, where he helped with the identification table, led mushroom cultivation workshops and presented programs at the annual Fall show for several years. He continues to provide mycology education and facilitation to students of all ages.

Join Jordan Weiss as he takes you on a Mushroom Lifecycle Journey. Follow along the story of how fungus has thrived as one of the most successful organisms on planet earth. This brief presentation will be followed by an oyster mushroom cooking demonstration. Oyster mushrooms grow in the wild and can be easily cultivated. They are one of the region’s most popularly collected edible fungi and Jordan has some unique ways of preparing them.
