Unjourneying Gender: A Bayesian, Nondual Approach to Psychedelic Gender Liberation
Mira Funk, LCSW (she/her), is a Harvard-educated queer, nonbinary psychotherapist and psychedelic guide. Based in Corvallis, Oregon, she is the founder of Unjourneying, a private therapy practice and YouTube channel dedicated to supporting psychedelic healing with a blend of somatic, nondual, and neuroscience-informed integration approaches.
The colonial European gender binary inflicts trauma on us all. Bayesian brain theory deconstructs it as a Procrustean “prior” (belief) that triggers (self-)policing behavior to restore conformity. Beard + skirt = fatal error! The Unjourneying psychedelic approach—featuring rectal 5-MeO-DMT—relaxes priors, interrupts implicit bias, and unlocks a nondual continuum of gender identities and expressive possibilities.
