Jennifer Kim Penberthy
Dr. J. Kim Penberthy is the Chester F. Carlson Professor of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Dr. Penberthy is a licensed board-certified clinical psychologist and distinguished clinician, educator, and researcher. Seminar reviews an open-label feasibility trial of psilocybin-assisted therapy for Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD; ~10% bereaved; DSM-5-TR/ICD-11). Twenty participants complete preparation, a single 25 mg dose, and integration with symptom, qualitative, and fMRI grief-elicitation assessments to examine safety, clinical change, and the role of mystical experience.
