Spiritual Breakthroughs: Psychedelics and a Seminary Education
The Reverend Doctor Pamela D. Hancock is Core Faculty, Director of both the Chaplaincy and Psychedelic Chaplaincy Programs at Starr King School for the Ministry. She is ordained clergy through Sacred Well Congregation. She received her Ph.D. in Depth Psychology from the Pacifica Graduate Institute
in May 2022. Her current research is into the use of psychedelics and archetypes for healing.
I’ll explore how seminary training can ground ethical, justice-centered engagement with psychedelics, drawing on Starr King’s new Psychedelic Chaplaincy Masters of Divinity Program. This work equips spiritual leaders to hold space, address cultural harms, and companion transformative experiences with depth, inclusivity, and ministry integrity.
