She has received a certificate of completion from the 12-month Psychedelics Today Vital Psychedelics Training Program and is enrolled in the ACER integration program developed by Dr. Rosalind Watts, a leading psychedelics-trained therapist and researcher. She also is certified as an Ayurveda and Meditation Instructor and Total Wellbeing Coach through the Deepak Chopra Program.

Death, Dying and Psychedelics

For two decades, prestigious universities such as Johns Hopkins, New York University and the University of California Los Angeles have consistently shown that the use of psilocybin-assisted therapy reduces anxiety and depression in participants with advanced-stage cancer. Not only that, but participants also confronted their fear of dying, found meaning in their lives and felt at peace with their death and dying. But psychedelics are merely the catalyst to this transformation. Psycho-social and spiritual factors play a major, if not more important, role. Nonetheless, psychedelics, when used in a safe and supportive container, can ease needless suffering for those with life-threatening illnesses. This presentation will focus on how and why psychedelics are especially important for people faced with existential and psychological crises at end-of-life. The role of End of Life Doulas and Hospice Chaplains on an “expanded care team” will also be discussed.
